FOLD Shelving 5-3 is a sculptural storage system that balances structure and rhythm.

 Crafted in solid Japanese oak, its folded, offset compartments create a quiet sense of movement—functional storage that reads as architectural form.

Designed to stand freely in a room or anchor a wall, FOLD works equally well as a bookcase, display shelf, or spatial divider. The staggered grid invites thoughtful styling while maintaining visual lightness, allowing negative space to do as much work as the objects it holds.

Each unit reflects the precision and restraint of Japanese craftsmanship, with carefully finished edges and natural wood grain that evolves beautifully over time. Available in a range of oak finishes, FOLD Shelving adapts to both warm, minimal interiors and darker, more contemplative spaces.

Oki Sato, born in Canada in 1977, established his design firm “nendo” soon after receiving a master’s degree of architecture from Waseda University in 2002. Since then, he has been active internationally. He was selected as one of "100 Most Respected Japanese People in the World" in Newsweek Japan, and was awarded as a “Designer of the Year” in Italy. His works can be seen in some of the world’s major museums, such as MoMa, Centre Pompidou, V&A, etc. The Olympic Cauldron Tokyo 2020 was also his design. Now, he is working on the design of TGV train cars for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
